The Book of Common Prayer

The reformers who founded the Anglican Church were deeply committed to making the Scriptures available to all, ministering to people in language they could understand, and uniting the church’s form of worship through a common liturgy.

Those commitments began to take shape through the Book of Common Prayer, primarily drafted by Thomas Cranmer (1489-1556). Today, versions of the Book of Common Prayer are used right here at Wellspring and in Anglican worship services around the world.
